Privacy notice
This explains what Qala Recruitment and Marketing Agency does with your personal information, in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).
What we collect
Your name, email address, cellphone number, the area where you live, your simulation answers and results, your certificates, and the choices you make about sharing and contact. For stores: the store name, contact person and details of the request.
Why we collect it
To run and mark your simulations, issue certificates, and improve our assessments. If you agree, to put you forward to employers and contact you about jobs, training or short-term paid work.
Who sees it
The Qala team. Employers see your name, contact details and results only if you ticked the box to share them, and you can switch this off at any time on your dashboard. When you share a certificate link, anyone with the link can see your name, the certificate, your level and the dates. Your exact score is shown only if you choose.
Services that process your information
Our database and sign-in are provided by Supabase, and written answers in assessed simulations are marked with help from an AI service provided by Anthropic. Both may process information outside South Africa. We only send them what's needed: written answers are sent for marking without your name or contact details.
How long we keep it
For as long as you have an account. If you ask us to delete your account, we delete your information within 30 days, except records we must keep by law.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete your information, withdraw your consent, or object to how we use it. You can also complain to the Information Regulator at inforegulator.org.za.
Contact
Qala never charges job seekers for its services.
